This creator of the web serial Daqueran is a Vancouver based cartoonist, illustrator, water colourist, and publisher.

She has contributed to a number of anthologies and often works with her twin sister Jayleen. She participated in the creation of two Cloudscape characters, “Ikniqpalagao” and “Canada Jacques“.

As a watercolourist she paints fantasy scenes, and animals focusing on dinosaurs. She has produced an adult colouring book called Art of Jeri Weaver – Animals Colouring Book.

With Jayleen she is co-owner of Gurukitty Studios which has published three books Ghost Tales, Once Upon a Time and Gateways to Beyond.

WEAVER Jayleen

She studied animation at the Vancouver Film School. She freelanced several years doing animated shows for television and DVD. She then turned to graphic literature.

She co-owns Gurukitty Studios with her twin sister Jeri Weaver and through that produced three graphic anthologies. She has contributed to nine graphic novels and created the web serial Hello, Albertosaurus.

She and Jason Wilkins are the creators of Nite-Flyer and Nitro Girl which appear in Cloudscape Comic Society’s Epic Canadiana.

WARD Dudley

WARD Dudley

This Englishman born in Staffordshire England resided in Toronto in the first decades of the 20th century. He began his cartooning career through the English comic paper Ally Sloper where he created a prehistoric sloper character. This came to an end through professional rivalry from another illustrator with which Ward created the “Dingbats” which were fantastic gnome-like creatures. These also became a success. In addition to Ally Sloper, he work appeared in most British humourous magazines: Sketch, Illustrated London News and Bystander. In Canada his work appeared in Maclean’s, Courier, Canada Weekly, the Christmas issues of Toronto Globe and Everywoman’s World. For Every woman’s World he created the “Jolliken’s”.

Born: Pittsburg Pennsylvania.

In 1972, she graduated from Ivy School of Professional Art in Pittsburg and shortly after moved to Ontario, where she worked as a cartoonist and book illustrator. Among the titles she published are P.E.T and Tales From An Open Casket.

In 1985, she began work in giftware sculpting in clay castles that were then produced in coloured sand. In 1986, she began an advertising agency Wee Back Door Designs specializing in graphic design and packaging for companies including MacDonalds, Burger King Regal Greetings and Canadian Tire. At the same time she taught graphic design and computer at George Brown College in Toronto and Georgian College in Barrie. In 2003, she began Whimsikatz Painted Furniture painting and recycling old furniture. In 2007 she began to build half scale doll houses and furniture.

WALTON Rob

WALTON Rob

An animator cartoonist and writer he teaches storytelling and story development for animation at the Max the Mutt Animation School in Toronto. His graphic novel Ragmop was published in 2006 to critical acclaim. He has been nominated for two Eisner Awards and two Schuster Awards.

This cartoonist created Pork Knight. Although it is generally thought of as a Dark Knight parody, Rob, in Blood Lines, 1, 1987, insists that it was not.
