SERGEANT RENFREW

SERGEANT RENFREW

This humorous strip was based on Sergeant Renfrew of the RCMP, a character created by stand up comedian Dave Broadfoot. Broadfoot wrote the strip while Olga Urbansky illustrated it. It was syndicated by Sneyd Syndicate Inc. and ran in the Toronto Star beginning Sept. 10, 1979 and ending 6 Sept. 1980. It also appeared in the Kitchener-Waterloo Record. It is easy to see that the cartoon character was modelled on Dave Broadfoot as he did his stand up portrayal of “Sergeant Renfrew”.
