MILLER Vernon

MILLER Vernon

Born 1912, in Winnipeg, he was the co-founder of Maple Leaf Publishing in 1941.

He worked for a period in Disney Studios in California, U.S.A.

After returning to B.C. Miller apparently played a pivotal role in the launching of Maple Leaf Comics convincing magazine vendor Harry Smith to invest in the new company.

He was the creator of Iron Man, Professor Miles & Bobby and for Rocket Comics, Mystery Mountain.

He became editor of Maple Leaf and was responsible for hiring Bus Griffiths known for “Now Your Logging.”

After Maple Leaf Comics ended operations he went on as a cartoonist for Vancouver newspapers and illustrator for Canadian Boy Magazine in the 1960’s.

He died in 1974.
