GOLDSTYN Jacques

Using the nom de plume of “Boris” this cartoonist was born in Saint-Eugène d’Argenttenay Quebec.

In 1980 he graduated from the Université de Montréal with a degree in geology. He worked for a while in the oil industry in Alberta. He returned to Montréal and began illustrating. He co-founded Les Débrouillards a children’s scientific magazine for which he still illustrates articles and cartoon strips. He has collaborated with Croc, Webdo Info, Relations, 4 Temps, Le Couac and L’Aut’journal.

In 2000, he received the Michael Smith Award of Science Promotion. In 2009 and 2011, he won Grand Prix du journalisme indépendant awards. In 2017 he won the Governor General’s Award for Young People’s Literature for his book Azahad.
