Born in the United Kingdom, she grew up in Winnipeg. Because she loved to draw, her mother enrolled her in Saturday morning art classes when she was in grade 1.

At age sixteen she signed up for life drawing classes where she learned contour line drawing. She moved to Toronto where she attended George Brown College. She began a career as a freelancer. Her work has appeared in the Chatelaine, Chickadee, Chirp, Dogs In Canada Magazine, Financial Post, Financial Times of Canada, Harrowsmith, Maclean’s, Outdoor Canada Magazine, Owl, This Magazine, Time, Toronto Star, TV Guide and Wildlife Conservation Magazine. Her clients have included BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., CIBC Capital Markets, McDonalds, Nabisco, Purina and Sears. She has collaborated with publishers Kidscan Press, Orca Book Publishers, Reader’s Digest Children’s Books, Oxford University Press and Scholastic Inc. She has illustrated a number of picture books including Crow Said No, The Flying Tortoise, Rhinos for Lunch and Elephants for Supper, Theodora Bear, and the Emma and I See You series of books.
