EUREKA STREET
This cartoon strip created by Katherine Collins aka Arn Saba followed the daily adventures of individuals living on Eureka Street. The model for this was the Wellesley area in downtown Toronto where Katherine lived. The wrap around cover on Arn Saba’s Neil The Horse. 1-5, Nov. 1983 is a beautiful rendition of this neighbourhood. It first appeared in a Toronto paper called the Bargain Hunter, and then appeared as reprints in Arn Saba’s Neil The Horse. The only full length “Eureka Street” was a team effort involving three cartoonists each a remarkable talent, Katherine Collins, Jacques Boivin and Bernie Mireault.
