HEMING Arthur

Born in Paris Ontario, he received his early training at the Hamilton Art School the continued his studies at the Art Student’s League in New York and then in London England. He was employed as an illustrator on the staff of the Dominion Illustrated and then became a freelancer. He was sent to the barrens by Harper to accompany Casper Whitney as an illustrator. He also patrolled with the Royal North-West Mounted Police and travelled by pack train through the Rocky Mountains. Using the materials of his travels he has published articles and illustrations in leading Canadian, English, French, German and American publications. He was the author of novels Spirit Lake and The Drama of the Forests.
