JOHNSON Douglas

Born in Toronto. Was educated at the Ontario College of Art (1958-1960) under Frank Neufeld. Moved to the U.S. in 1968. He was part of a group of Canadian illustrators Jamie Bennett, David ChestnuttJulius Ciss, Heather Cooper, Ken Dallison, Blair Drawson, Gail GeltnerRoger Hill, Tina Holdcraft, Jeff Jackson, Anita KunzDoug MartinWilli Mitschka, Denis Noble, William Russell, Joseph Salina, Mark Summers, Maurice Vellekoop and Rene Zamic, who gained an international reputation in the 1970’s and 80’s.
